Students learned about the three types of communication, written, verbal and non-verbal. They also watched a video clip of each type of communication to help them remember the three types. We also discussed the importance of listening to others and watching their body language. Also, students were notified that the last day to turn in late or missing assignments and extra credit is January 11th DURING class. No assignments or extra credit will be accepted after this day.

Students learned about different careers in clothing and textiles. They also had a fill-in-the-blank worksheet to complete and should have turned this in to the turn-in basket for points.
December 17-20, 2012
Students had the whole class period each day to work on their locker pockets. Most students will finish their locker pockets by the end of class on Wednesday. If they don't finish by the end of class on Thursday, they will need to come in Thursday after school or during Diamond Time to finish. If they do not finish before Winter Break, I will work with them to arrange another time after the break for them to come in and finish.

Students learned how to wind a bobbin and thread a sewing machine by watching a teacher demonstration and doing it on their machines while I walked them through it. Students were encouraged to help each other along the way. Any student who missed this day is highly encouraged to go to my website to see the video downloads on winding a bobbin, threading a bobbin case and threading a machine or go to the following site and click on the first video on bobbin winding. This will help them stay caught up with the rest of the class. Go to: http://familylife.byu.edu/sewingvideos/
